According to the research, 68% of people fear losing a tooth and the impact it will have on their smile. The good news is that like most oral health problems, it’s preventable. You know the drill. Clean your teeth twice each day. Floss and use mouthwash. Reduce the amount of sugar in your diet, and visit your dentist regularly as they will spot any problems early.
Every day we’re bombarded by images of celebrities and influencers on social media with bright white teeth. White teeth aren’t necessarily healthy teeth, but 74% of people questioned in the research said they thought white teeth were healthy.
However, if tooth stains are bothering you, invest in a teeth whitening pen so you can brighten your smile at home. You’ll also need to cut back on those foods and drinks that cause stains like red wine, coffee, and curries.
Bad breath is one of the top common anxieties about oral health. It can affect your personal and social life. Have you ever pulled back at the stale scent of a colleague’s breath or from your partner when they turn over and hit you with the morning breath? Then you know what we’ll mean.
As many as 90% of people in the research were worried about having bad breath. Bad breath can occur due to an inadequate oral health care routine. For example, if you don’t brush your teeth properly and regularly, food debris and bacteria builds up. This can cause plaque to develop which can lead to gum disease and tooth decay over time.
